The canticles, written for Worcester Cathedral Choir, are by composer and former St John's Lay Clerk Piers Kennedy. They set the Latin text of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in an atmospheric contemporary idiom.

Ave Maria, the anthem by Franz Biebl, was originally written for a choir of firemen (hence the scoring for Tenors and Basses only) in Biebl's home town of Fürstenfeldbruck near Munich. It has since become popular with choirs all around the globe in various arrangements for different groups of voices.
