Choir return to Chapel Tower for Ascension Day

The Choir were delighted to return to the top of St John's College Chapel tower for the Ascension Day Carol Service, the first time since restoration on the tower began in 2013.

After a Sung Eucharist service in the Chapel attended by students of St John's College School, the clergy and Choir ascended the 163ft tower (the tallest building in Cambridge) to perform the hymns 'The Lord ascendeth up on high' with music by Michael Praetorius (known to us as the Ascension Day Carol) and 'Eternal Monarch, King most high' with music by Percy Buck.

We were thrilled to be joined for the service by a team from the Press Association, who took drone footage of the Choir as they performed which can be viewed here.
