This Candlelit Service of readings and music celebrates the season of Epiphany.
Music includes Silent night (arr. Blatchly), The Angel Gabriel from heaven came (arr. Pettman), The Angels (Harvey), Ding dong! merrily on high (arr. Wood), Away in a manger (Chilcott), Sir Christèmas (Mathias), There is no rose (Joubert), O Thoma! (Burton), Vox in Rama (Kirbye), I saw three ships (arr. Preston) and Nunc dimittis (Holst).
O Thoma! is receiving its first performance and was composed jointly for the Choir and the Worshipful Company of Clothmakers.
The readings and hymns tell the story of the coming of Christ, the Magi’s visit, and the presentation in the Temple.
The commitment, projection and natural energy of this choir have never failed to inspire me
