This archival webcast of men's voices Choral Evensong features the premiere of Ben Parry's God in Triumph which sets a paraphrase of Psalm 147, written by Garth Bardsley, for ATB and Organ.

Ben Parry (b. 1965) is a British musician, composer, conductor, singer, arranger and producer. He is the co-director of London Voices, Assistant Director of Music at King's College, Cambridge, director of the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain. Ben's music is published by Peters Edition and Faber Music, and he has made over 80 recordings. He collaborates regularly with author and lyricist Garth Bardsley, and together they have had works premiered by the BBC Singers, Sheffield Cathedral, Aldeburgh Voices, St Andrew's University, Chelmsford Cathedral, National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and London Voices.

Magnificat 4 includes two commissions written specially for the Choir of St John's College; Jonathan Dove's 2022 canticle setting St John's Service, and Judith Weir's 2011 service of the same name.

Winner of the 2008 Ivor Novello Award for classical music, Jonathan Dove CBE has composed a broad range of works and is one of the most successful British composers today. 

Jonathan was kind enough to share insights into his St John's Service, the compositional process, and what we can look forward to in the future.
