Choral Evensong - 10 October 2015

Brahms’ ‘Wie lieblich sind deine Wohnungen’ is taken from his German Requiem – a large-scale seven-movement work. The text of the work is not the usual Catholic Requiem mass but rather various scriptural passages (in German). The text of this particular movement is taken from Psalm 84.

This Sunday is the Feast of St Luke the Evangelist. In the morning, the tenors and basses will sing Duruflé’s ‘Messe cum jubilo’ at Eucharist. In the evening, members of the Howells Society attend evensong, at which the Choir will sing Howells’ Westminster Service and the Te Deum from the Collegium Regale service.
