13 May 2017 - Service in Memorial of Robert Aubrey Hinde
The service featured in this week's webcast is in memorial of Robert Aubrey Hinde CBE FRS FBA (1923 - 2016) - a former Fellow and Master of St John's College, Cambridge, and Emeritus Royal Society Research Professor of Zoology at the University of Cambridge.
Robert Hinde made outstanding contributions to many fields, ranging from animal behaviour to psychiatry. His intellectual incisiveness, warmth, and breadth of knowledge guided and inspired a great many scientists throughout their careers. Whilst Master of St John's College (1989-94) he was a pivotal figure in ensuring the future of the College Choir, and we are immensely grateful for his support at that time. You can read more on Professor Hinde's life on the College website.
The Choir of St John's College are joined by violinist Julia Hwang, cellist Leo Popplewell, and harpist Anna Lapwood for the performance of 'In Paradisum' from Gabriel Fauré's Requiem.
